Rocket Turbine Engine (RTE) Abstract:
The Rocket Turbine Engine (RTE) was developed to significantly improve thermal efficiency while simplifying the mechanical design compared to traditional gas turbine engines. While single-cycle gas turbines typically achieve energy conversion efficiencies between 20% and 35%, the RTE is expected to reach thermal efficiencies of 60% or higher. The RTE can be coupled with an off-the-shelf (OTS) Axial Flux Motor (AFM), such as the YASA P400R AFM, to create a compact generator system (RTE-AFM-100kW GEN) with the following characteristics:
In addition to electric generator and power plant applications, the RTE can be utilized for a wide variety of commercial applications as the following:
(1): EV car range extender: eliminates the time-consuming process of charging an EV, reduce battery by half.
(2): EV truck range extender: saves truck drivers thousands of dollars each month;
(3): Mobile cordless EV charging kiosk; (multiple cars charging at the same time, place anywhere, gas station, parking lot)
(4): Hybrid automobile engines, from passenger cars to 18-wheeler trucks;
(5); Simple tricycle, automobile engine, (direct drive the wheel, reversable)
(6): Propeller-based aircraft engines, including helicopters;
(7): Propeller-based boat and ship engines (especially for large ship, similar to Azipod)

- Compact Design: Requires only ¼ of the space compared to the current model

- Low Maintenance Requirements: No water-cooling system or oil changes needed
- Cost-Effective Design: Priced at 1/2 to 1/3 of the current model's price
- Fuel: Gasoline, Compressed Natural Gas, Alcohol, or Hydrogen
