Jack Jeng Graduated from National Taiwan University (NTU) of E.E. major on 1977. He immigrated to U.S. since 1980. He had been working for Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL/NASA) for more than 13 years. He also worked for Boeing’s sub-contracting companies and L-3 Technologies for more than 12 years. He has retired since 2018.
Jack, Taiwanese-American Engineers/Scientists and Stephen Bryen formed a start-up company: SubX Inc., focusing UV technologies and their control systems. He invented many UV related systems and a land-based air craft carrier catapult system.
Jack has involved in designing the Voice Switching & Control System (VSCS) of Air Traffic Control Center for FAA, Deep Space Network (DSN) for JPL/NASA, Fiber Optic Tactical Local Area Network (FOTLAN) for U.S. Army. He also involved in designing the FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) network in the Boeing-777 cockpit. While he was working for L-3 Technologies, he had designed many fiber-optic networks for Army Vehicle, M1-Tank, military airplane, naval ships and EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infra-Red) turret.
Jack is the Acting President of Formosa Republican Association of North America (FRANA) after the late President Robert Lee passed away unexpectedly on late 2020. He also involved in founding the Formosa Republican Association (FRA) in Taiwan on December 10, 2018.
Jack gave many piano recitals in both Taiwan and U.S., He was the piano accompanist for NTU Chorus and many Chinese Choir in Southern California. Jack also was the 31th captain of NTU Rugby team. Jack and his wife Katherine published a Christian music hymns (CD and music book) titled “Hope For The Spring等待春天”, in both Chinese and Taiwanese on 2014.

Qualifications
- M.Sc. (Control Engineering), Cambridge University, England, 1972.
- M.S. (Electronic Computation), Caulfield Institute of Technology (Australia), 1968.
- B.S. (Applied Physics), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, 1963.
- B.S. (Electrical Engineering), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, 1966.
Achievements
- Conceived, developed and fabricated miniature ‘soft’ ionization devices that are efficient, do not fracture medium or multiply charge components and operate over extreme temperatures and broad range of pressures.
- Developing contemporary NBC threat monitoring instruments and homeland security systems.
- Development of sub-micron CD X-ray masks and their deployment in the fabrication of exquisite blaze grating spectrometers on large sag concave and convex elements.
- Designed and developed extreme environment, radiation tolerant, and robust thin film ‘hoop’ strain pressure and temperature sensors (and flight electronics) for spacecraft.
- Principal investigator in the design and build of a multi-wafer bulk machined nano-G accelerometer and ‘flight’ electronics, that has huge dynamic range, is thermally inert, is magnetically inert, and electrostatically ‘caged’ against quiescent shock.
