TITLE: Simple High-efficient Expandable Turbine Engine Generator (SHETEG)
ABSTRACT:
Improved the turbine blade and engine enclosure designs from the previously patented turbine engine, making the new turbine engine more efficient and easier to scale up to a large-scale turbine engine.

This new turbine engine features a mechanically simple design and can be mass-produced and assembled in just a few minutes. Multiple identical turbine engines can be connected on a common shaft to scale up to a larger and more powerful turbine engine.

With its mechanically simple design, the SHETEG has simple and more efficient air-cooling system than the traditional turbine engine.
With its mechanically simple design, the SHETEG can operate using either high-pressure steam input or rocket-type (gas type) combustion. (The rocket-type combustion turbine engine is patented, while the steam version is pending.)

The SHETEGs are coupled with Axial Flux Motors (AFMs) to form various high-power-density and compact electric generators. Since both the SHETEG and AFM have similar pancake shapes, they can be co-shafted to increase power output. Multiple SHETEG turbine engines and multiple AFMs can be combined to form a large-scale turbine generator. Several large-scale turbine generators can be integrated to achieve power plant-level capacities.

Unlike a traditional turbine generator, which has one large turbine engine coupled to a large generator by a single shaft, the SHETEG features two small and light turbine engines positioned on either side of the generator/generators, all three units connected by the same shaft. This configuration provides a more balanced power delivery to the generator/generators, similar to the difference between four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive vehicle, or single-engine versus dual-engine airplane setups.

Most turbine engines and generators use a horizontal shaft setup. Because a vertical-axis rotating machine generally provides better-balanced rotational motion than a horizontal-axis machine, especially under heavy loads due to the effects of gravity, the SHETEG can be configured with either a vertical or horizontal shaft setup. From dozens of laboratory tests, we found that the vertical shaft base produces, on average, 12.6% more power than the horizontal shaft base under the same SHETEG configuration.

The SHETEG has enormous potential applications, such as:

  • Replace most current steam turbine engine generators, especially those used in geothermal energy generation.
  • AI (Artificial Intelligent) electric power supply system to supply electricity according to: When, Where and How much electricity are needed.
  • Gas turbine engine for airplane prop engine.
